Botcon 2007 Part 1: Dealer Floor

UNICRON.COM REPORT:
BOTCON 2007,

Providence, RI, June 28 - July 1

part 1, part 2, part 3, part4

by: Lukis Bros.

Botcon 2007 began with a bang and never let up! To the right see pictures of all the sights of the "arrival" phase. After checking in and settling down, Botcon always begins with the excitement and discovery of finally learning about all the convention exclusive figures, souvenirs and sets, seeing old friends and acquaintances and meeting new ones while waiting (and waiting) in lines. But oh, is it worth it!

Of course this year, we were thrilled to be a part of the excitment and hoop-la ourselves. As a compliment to the Alpha Trion figure, which was a recolor and retool of the Transformers Cybertron: Vector Prime, our 5th Unicron.com Accessory Pack was unveiled. Vector Sigma came complete with "the Key," the super-computer orb and crystal clear polycarbonate stand enabling it to float. The pack was on display, front and center next to the Alpha Trion figure in the Display case.

To the left, check out this video of the opening registration lines and all new unveiling of the Botcon exclusive figure displays. Very cool stuff!
Of course, for us, one of the highlights of the trip came later that opening Thursday night. We had been invited to the 6:30 charity screening of the Transformers Movie event. However, only one ticket to split among the three of us brothers presented a problem. I did not want to live in fear of my bros. slitting my throat while I slept later that night if I went and saw it without them (and neither did either of my other two bros!) So, we held back and all 3 of us saw it together for the first time at the 10:30 showing. Of course, no pictures were allowed inside the theater but I did snap off a few shots before it started. What a hoot!

Shown here to the left is another video of a much anticipated moment in Botcon events: The grand opening of the dealer floor!

As always, the dealer floor was a great treat. Unfortunately, we didn't get as many pictures as we would have liked, but enough to give you a decent idea. This year, rather than having our own dealer table, we worked in conjunction with bigbadtoystore, who graciously allowed us to set up our display with Unicron Stands, Energon Cubes (sold out), and Golden Disk Sets.

And then we saw, 'him. The real Optimus Prime, in truck form, of course, had paid a visit to Botcon 2007! What an amazing sight to behold. Gorgeous, polished shining chrome, complete with blue and red metallic flame paint job. A work of art available for all fan attendees to gaze upon and take pictures until our hears were content. And of course, we took a lot!

Here, you will see thumbnail links to pictures of the Hasbro display on the convention floor. Here fans and sites were allowed to take as many photos as we liked. The are, for the most part quite self explanatory. Hasbro showed all of the remaining Transformers Movie items, Real Gear and recolored exclusives they plan on releasing in the near future, the remaining Titanium toys, and of course the awe-inspiring, breathtaking Masterpiece Starscream!
